What is an aligner?

An aligner is the one human who runs a vector and holds its gates. In Collapse or Collapse, she owns one result end to end, for example a hire who joins, while a chain of AI agents does the steps.

What she does all day

The aligner holds the daily review, samples what passes through the reversible gates, listens to a sample of the agents’ conversations and signs at the irreversible ones: the candidate going to the client, the quote going out, the offer. She works from the cockpit, where she sees one face at a time, the quartermaster, and nothing else until she asks.

Why the word

The book says the aligner aligns: she points the thing at the result and keeps it pointed. It replaces “manager” and “team”, words built for the workaround that rebuild it every time they are used. The aligner has no team; her team is the chain.

Who stands beside her

Every vector is held by a pair. The aligner owns the result; the tuner builds and changes the chain, and each is the other’s standby. Above them sits a master, who holds an Outcome, and the Keeper, who holds the company.

How she is paid

On the book’s one formula: a base set well above the market, for the intention the company selected, and a share of equal size at target that moves with her vector’s result.
