This site is the personal home of Vinay Pasricha — books, frameworks, and a few interactive, AI-assisted experiences. This page explains, in plain terms, what information the site handles and the choices you have. The site collects as little as possible.
What is collected
- Contact details you choose to give. Some interactive experiences (for example, capturing a mission or connecting directly) ask for your name, email, and phone number before you begin. You provide these knowingly; the site does not gather them in the background.
- Conversation content. When you use an AI-assisted experience, the messages in that conversation are stored so the experience can work and so the result can be reviewed. A site-wide bridge saves each AI exchange, and email or contact details you submit through a form, to Google Cloud (Firestore). That storage is what makes a later reply possible.
- No tracking ad-cookies. The site does not sell your data and does not use third-party advertising trackers.
How it is used
- To run the experience you asked for and to follow up with you if you requested it.
- AI features are processed by Google Vertex AI (Gemini). Text you enter into an AI experience is sent to that service to generate a response.
- Text shown on the site can be machine-translated on request; translation requests are not stored as conversations.
Where it is stored, and for how long
- Data is stored in Google Cloud (Firestore).
- Conversations are kept for a limited period (about 30 days) and then expire. Contact details you submit are kept until you ask for them to be removed.
Your choices
- You can ask for a copy of, or the deletion of, any information you have shared. Email hello@vinaypasricha.com and it will be handled.
- You can use most of the site — the books, writing, and reading — without providing any personal details at all.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the date above will be updated.
