Refund and Cancellation

This policy covers cancellations, returns, and refunds for physical hardcover books purchased through vinaypasricha.com.

It does not cover Kindle or other digital editions bought on Amazon or other retailers. Those sales are governed by the retailer’s refund rules.

1. Scope

2. Cancellation before dispatch

• You may request cancellation before the order is dispatched by emailing vinay@goodspace.ai (or calling +91 98100 07690) with your order reference and the email / phone used at checkout.
• If the order has not yet been dispatched, we will cancel it and issue a full refund of the amount paid for that order.
• Once the order has been handed to the courier (dispatched), cancellation is treated as a return under section 4, if eligible.

3. Cancellation by us

We may cancel an order if:

• payment is not completed or is reversed;
• the delivery address is outside India;
• the item is out of stock;
• we cannot verify the order or suspect fraud; or
• information required for delivery is incomplete.

If we cancel after your payment has been successfully captured, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled item(s).

4. Returns after delivery

• Return window: You may request a return within 7 days of delivery (the date the courier marks the shipment delivered, or the date you confirm receipt, whichever we can verify).
• Eligible reasons (subject to inspection): book arrived damaged or defective; wrong title or wrong edition sent; package missing the book or clearly tampered with in transit; or change of mind within the return window for an unused book in original condition (buyer pays return shipping).
• Not eligible (unless required by applicable law): returns requested after the return window has closed; damage caused after delivery by misuse, wear, or water / weather while in your possession; or orders already refunded or replaced.
• To start a return, email vinay@goodspace.ai within the return window with your order reference, reason for return, and clear photos (for damage / wrong item / tampering).
• If the return is approved, we will share the return shipping instructions. Return shipping cost: Seller pays return shipping for damaged or wrong items; buyer pays return shipping for change-of-mind returns.
• Returned books should be in the condition described in our approval note (typically unused, with packaging suitable for inspection).

5. Replacements

Where a book is damaged or the wrong item was sent, we may offer a replacement instead of a refund, subject to stock. If a replacement cannot be provided within a reasonable time, we will refund the amount paid for that item.

6. Refund method and timing

• Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout (via the payment gateway).
• After we approve a refund, gateway and bank processing typically takes 7–10 business days for the amount to appear in your account (Cashfree’s public docs commonly cite about 5–7 business days for customer credit after a refund is initiated; exact timing depends on your bank).
• You will receive confirmation at the email on the order when the refund has been initiated.

7. Non-Site purchases

Purchases made on Amazon or other third-party stores (including Kindle editions) must be cancelled or refunded through that store’s order tools and policies. We cannot process those refunds through the Site’s payment gateway.
